Everyone knows what computers are. They are highly sophisticated machines that are a creation of human minds and have the capabilities of performing almost any task. Now, it is possible to get images of remote moons, stars, planets and such heavenly bodies, manufacture robots, provide them with their own intelligence and can be controlled by humans, fly aircrafts automatically, perform otherwise manual tasks very efficiently. From complex mathematic calculations to developing building designs to constructing Swiss-Alps channel, computers are used everywhere.
Even a simple clothes iron is computer and so is an oven. These machines have been specialized to perform a specific task. In simple words, a computer is a machine that can take an input, process it and then provide and output that is meaningful. From a kitchen accessory to space crafts, everything can be made to perform a task that gives useful output. Today, no field is left untouched. Computers are everywhere. Personal computers and laptops are for personalized usage, while many versions are made exclusively for commercial purpose and may not be applicable to household usage.
Robots are also a type of computer that are artificially intelligent. They can perform various tasks and are controlled by humans. An interesting thought is that if they are allowed to work on their own and are made competitive to humans, can we think that we can become their slaves? This is yet to be seen, while it is a hot topic for movies, especially sci-fi genre. The future is yet to be seen. But for today, computers have definitely made out lives very easier and have successfully connected entire globe.
